Angela Miller-May, IMRF Chief Investment Officer, received the 2022 NASP Pacesetter Award at the National Association of Securities Professionals (NASP) 33rd Annual Financial Services Conference in Chicago. The conference was held June 27-29 at Radisson Blu Hotel in Chicago. The Pacesetter Award recognizes individuals or funds that have ensured or promoted the full involvement of women or minorities in the financial securities industry. Miller-May was recognized for her practice of providing management opportunities for qualified women and minority-owned investment firms. IMRF was also a recipient of this award in 2019. Taken together, these awards illustrate IMRF’s long-term commitment to equal opportunity for minorities and women in the securities industry.

As of May 31, about $12.9 billion, or 25.2%, of the total IMRF portfolio is managed by minority- or women-owned firms.

“I am honored to be recognized by the National Association of Securities Professionals for decades of work in the industry,” said Chief Investment Officer Angela Miller-May. “I want to thank IMRF Executive Director Brian Collins and the IMRF Board of Trustees for supporting my commitment to diversity in the hiring of minority, women, and persons with a disability owned investment managers.”
