2021 Retiree Lifestyle Workshop Webinar Series

Join IMRF and the University of Illinois Extension for a three-part webinar series on a variety of health topics. Pick and choose programs based on interest. Each session is offered twice to help meet people's schedules. The workshops are free of charge but registration is required. Webinars are for IMRF retirees only.

How High Do You Bounce

Every one of us has been challenged by a tough situation sometime in our lives. We have also most likely witnessed highly resilient people that have the ability to adapt, recover, and grow stronger from difficult situations. In this workshop, learn what characteristics resilient people possess that help them create opportunities from challenges, and how you can also nurture and strengthen your resilience.

Finding Your Get Up and Go

Most people find that there are some days when it’s hard to find the motivation to accomplish what needs to be done, even those things that are important. This session will cover what accounts for the ebb and flow of motivation levels and how to boost enthusiasm when it just seems hard to “get going.”

Using Mindfulness to Manage Stress

The practice of mindfulness, or paying purposeful attention to the present moment, offers a way to slow down, enjoy life more and reduce stress. This session will help you explore benefits of mindfulness meditation and learn techniques that reduce stress and increase life satisfaction.
