Dhvani Shah Receives Trailblazer Award

OAK BROOK, Ill. — Dhvani Shah, IMRF Chief Investment Officer, received the 2019 Institutional Trailblazer Award at the Toigo 30th Anniversary Gala. The gala was held November 19th at the UCLA Luskin Center. Shah and two others were recognized for leading the advancement of diversity and inclusion in finance – and beyond.

Shah is a Toigo Governing Board Member, and has supported the inclusion of under-represented groups within the finance industry. Today, about $10.5 billion, or 24.2%, of the total IMRF portfolio is managed by minority- or women-owned firms. In addition, Shah mentors Toigo Fellows, helping these individuals succeed in their careers in Finance.

The mission of the Toigo Foundation is to provide under-represented rising leaders with the network and support they need, but otherwise don’t have access to. The Fellowship program provides mentorship, introductions, advice and career support—all the elements many take for granted, yet few ethnic minorities can tap into. Through its range of programs, Toigo supports diverse leaders from the classroom to the boardroom and connects that talent with forward-thinking employers. Toigo has 1,500 alumni and fellows at 20 of the nation’s top MBA programs.
