OAK BROOK, Ill. -- This year, PLANSPONSOR Magazine is saluting the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund as a leader among public defined benefit plans in the United States, by naming IMRF as a finalist for the 2019 Plan Sponsor of the Year Award.
The magazine says IMRF'S "retirement plan rose to the top in the Public DB category and PLANSPONSOR is honored to recognize it for excellence."
All finalists will be recognized and winners will be announced at PLANSPONSOR's annual Excellence in Retirement Awards celebration and dinner in New York City on Thursday, March 28.
IMRF is one of two finalists in the public defined benefit category. Midwestern neighbor, the Missouri Local Government Employees Retirement System (LAGERS), is a co-finalist for this national honor.
