WHEREAS, section 7-198 of the Illinois Pension Code authorizes the Board of Trustees of the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund to establish rules necessary or desirable for the efficient administration of the Fund; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees has previously adopted Resolution 1965-6257 establishing rules regarding the impact of changes to the Social Security benefit on an IMRF annuity; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees has previously adopted Resolution 1968-7151 providing for the integration of Social Security with IMRF retirement annuities; and
WHEREAS, because of changes to the Illinois Pension Code, Social Security no longer directly impacts IMRF retirement annuities; and
WHEREAS, Resolutions 1965-6257 and 1968-7151 are obsolete; and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate that obsolete rules be rescinded.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Board Resolutions 1965-6257 and 1968-7151 be and are hereby rescinded.
