CERTIFICATE

Pursuant to Section 7.1 of the Social Security Enabling Act, the Board of Trustees of the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund created by the Municipal Retirement Fund Act hereby certifies to the Governor of the State of Illinois that:

  1. Said Board has received a petition requesting that a referendum be held among the employees included in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund created by the Municipal Retirement Fund Act on the question whether service in positions covered by the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund created by the Municipal Retirement Fund Act should be excluded from or included under an agreement between Social Security Unit of the State Employees Retirement System and the Secretary of Health, Education and Welfare for the purpose of extending the benefits of the Federal Old Age and Survivors Insurance System to such employees.
  2. Said Board has checked the petition to ascertain that each signed is a member eligible to vote in such referendum and has eliminated the names of individuals not eligible to vote in such referendum therefrom and reduced the count thereby.
  3. Said petition is signed by at least ten per cent of the members of the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund eligible to vote at such referendum.
