WHEREAS, section 7-198 of the Illinois Pension Code authorizes the Board of Trustees of the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund to establish rules necessary or desirable for the efficient administration of the Fund; and

WHEREAS, participating employers are able to transmit certain data to IMRF electronically through the Employer Access website; and

WHEREAS, participating employers using Employer Access to transmit data to IMRF have found it to be convenient, efficient, and accurate; and

WHEREAS, processing paper enrollment and termination forms is inefficient and creates the possibility for more errors in IMRF records; and

WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees has determined that administrative efficiencies and cost savings can be achieved if all IMRF participating employers use Employer Access to transmit certain data to IMRF; and

WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees finds that it is appropriate that all participating employers, with internet access, submit new member enrollments (Form 6.10), member terminations (Form 6.41), member information changes (Form 6.20), and wage report adjustments (Form 3.20) to IMRF through the IMRF Employer Access website.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that all employers with internet access must submit the data on IMRF Forms 6.10, 6.20, 6.41, and 3.20 electronically via the IMRF Employer Access website after March 1, 2010.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a processing fee of $25 per month will be assessed for each paper form type 6.10, 6.20, 6.41, 3.20 submitted to IMRF by a participating employer with internet access after March 1, 2010.
