How outside employment affects your disability benefits
In most cases, IMRF considers you no longer disabled if your compensation from outside employment exceeds 25% of the average monthly earnings on which your disability earnings were based.
If IMRF no longer considers you disabled, your IMRF disability benefits will end.
However, there may be limited exceptions to this. IMRF will let you know if your circumstance is an exception, and how this will affect your disability benefits.
