Election for Employee Trustee
In November, IMRF members will elect one Employee Trustee, for a five-year term. The five-year term of office will run from January 1, 2025, through December 31, 2029.
You can run for Employee Trustee if you are:
- An active member currently participating in IMRF
- Vested in IMRF as of December 31, 2024 (eight years for Tier 1 members, ten years for Tier 2 members)
- Not employed by an IMRF employer as a chief executive officer, chief finance officer, or other officer, executive, or department head
The materials you'll need to run for Employee Trustee include:
- Election fact sheet
- Biographical information form
- Petition form
- Petition form - single signature
- Petition form - single signature for submission through Member Access
- Candidate packet
The most efficient ways to submit your nomination are through Secure Message in Member Access or attached to an email sent to IMRF at IMRFTrusteeElection@imrf.org. Member Access submissions will only be accepted for the account holder. Nominating petitions will be accepted in the IMRF office in Oak Brook between August 1, 2024, and September 16, 2024. Petitions received after 4:30 PM on September 16, 2024 will not be accepted.
If there is only one candidate for this seat, the election will not be held, and the Board will confirm that candidate as Trustee at its December meeting.
