In November, IMRF employers will elect one Executive Trustee for a five-year term. The five-year term of office will run from January 1, 2023, through December 31, 2027.
You can run for Executive Trustee if you are:
- An active member currently participating in IMRF
- Employed by an IMRF employer as a chief executive officer, chief finance officer, or other officer, executive, or department head
- Vested in IMRF (eight years for Tier 1 members, ten years for Tier 2 members)

If there is only one candidate for this seat, the election will not be held, and the Board will confirm that candidate as Trustee at its December meeting.
Nominating Petitions
The most efficient ways to submit your nomination are through Secure Message in Member Access or attached to an email sent to IMRF at IMRFTrusteeElection@imrf.org. Member Access submissions will only be accepted for the account holder. Nominating petitions will be accepted in the IMRF office in Oak Brook between August 1, 2022, and September 15, 2022. Petitions received after 4:30 PM on September 15, 2022 will not be accepted.
