OAK BROOK, Ill. -- The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) has awarded the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) its prestigious "Triple Crown" Award. This award recognizes governments that have received GFOA's Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR), the Popular Annual Financial Reporting Award (PAFR), and the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award.

IMRF is one of just four public pensions in the United States and Canada to receive the “Triple Crown” honor. Out of more than 3,000 units of government in Illinois, only 23 others also earned the recognition.

IMRF has made a long-term commitment to transparency in financial reporting. The organization’s ACFR has received GFOA’s Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting 46 separate years. That places IMRF on GFOA’s top ten list of all-time award recipients.

GFOA, a professional association established in 1906, represents financial management professionals throughout the United States and Canada, including appointed and elected local, state/provincial, and federal finance officials.
