With a team of approximately 220 dedicated people, IMRF staff members administer three benefit plans with two benefit tiers.
Working together, the IMRF staff and Board of Trustees have the responsibility to protect the Fund and, consequently, the retirement of thousands of members.

Member Services
Member Service Representatives are available at 1-800-ASK-IMRF (1-800-275-4673) from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM Monday through Friday to answer members’ and employers’ questions
Field Services
Field Representatives provide information and assistance to members and employers by conducting member presentations, Authorized Agent workshops, compliance reviews, etc.
Office Services
- Records - Maintain member electronic imaging systems, and employer files; verifies accuracy of member enrollment documents
- Mail Services - Process incoming and outgoing mail; maintain receiving and stocking; issue office supplies; responsible for messenger services.

Finance Department
- Prepare financial reports for fund activities and investments
- Collect and process of cash receipts

Legal Department
Legal
Our Legal team provides legal advice to all IMRF departments, offers counsel to the Board, reviews investment contracts, defend and prosecute lawsuits.
Legislation
Pursues IMRF’s efforts toward the passage of legislation favorable to IMRF; defeat unfavorable legislation.
Procurement
Execute and monitor the procurement function for the Fund in compliance with established policies and procedures

Administers all human resources functions for IMRF
Communications
Creates and distributes public information about IMRF, develops documentation for staff, implements internal communications, maintains the IMRF intranet and website, conducts research of members and employers through surveys and focus groups, connects with users through online social media.
