WHEREAS, the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (“IMRF”) has from time-to-time been named as a defendant in various lawsuits seeking monetary damages for alleged violations of federal and/or state employment laws; and

WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees is kept up to date as to the status of all lawsuits in which IMRF has been named as a defendant through the monthly Litigation Status Update; and

WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees believes that the Executive Director should have the authority to settle employment-related lawsuits when the settlement amount, including damages, costs and attorney’s fees would not exceed $10,000.00.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Trustees of the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund that the Executive Director of IMRF is hereby given the authority to settle employment lawsuits against IMRF where the settlement amount, including damages, costs and attorney’s fees would not exceed $10,000.00.
