Employers Will Pay Using a Pre-Authorized Debit Account

IMRF will no longer be using external vendor First Data Government Solutions for online banking beginning February 21 at 5:30 PM. Once the New IMRF Employer Access system goes live March 4, employers will pay IMRF using a pre-authorized debit account.

Setting Up Your Pre-Authorized Debit Account

In IMRF’s New Employer Access, you will enter banking information to establish a single account for pre-authorized debit.

Training materials will be available on the IMRF website to show you how to set this up in the New Employer Access system once the new system is live in March.

All Payments Will be Invoice-Driven

In the New IMRF Employer Access system, all payments will be invoice-driven, including the following:

A wage report, adjustment, or internal process must occur for an invoice to be generated. The invoice will appear in your Employer Access Account Summary. You will then be able to select the invoice and remit payment using your pre-authorized debit account.

Employers Who Currently Use Multiple Accounts to Make Payments

If you currently use multiple accounts to make payments to IMRF, you will need to change your procedure in the New Employer Access system. In the new system, you will need to either:

The best practice for the new system will be to pool the money into a single internal account to make payments to your IMRF pre-authorized debit account.

Inactive Employers

Inactive employers will no longer file a monthly wage report.

An invoice will appear in your Employer Access Account Summary on the 21st of the month. You will then be able to select the invoice and remit payment using your pre-authorized debit account.

In the new system, your payments will be due by the last day of the month. Payments made after that will incur an interest charge. There will be no grace period.

Employers with Extra Minimum Contribution Payments

For employers who have a minimum contribution that exceeds your contributions for your members, a second monthly invoice will appear on the 21st of the month in your Employer Access Account Summary. This extra minimum contribution payment will be due by the last day of the month. Payments made after that will incur an interest charge. There will be no grace period. Thank you so much for your time and patience in adapting to the New IMRF Employer Access System! We appreciate you.
