Enclosed is a copy of the 2009 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report of the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund. In addition to the financial statements and statistical data, the report includes a summary of benefits and the following commentaries from professional consultants engaged by IMRF:

We have not included a detailed list of investments in the 2009 financial report due to its length. The Addendum to the 2009 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, which lists our investments, is available on IMRF’s website, www.imrf.org. Also available on the IMRF website is IMRF’s Annual Actuarial Valuation Report as of December 31, 2009. The report provides information on IMRF’s funding progress and 2011 employer contribution rates.

Also enclosed is a copy of IMRF’s 2009 Popular Annual Financial Report. A popular annual financial report is designed to meet the needs of readers who may not be interested in using traditional financial reports. Its goal is to make financial information more readily accessible to a broader audience.

Both the comprehensive and popular annual financial reports are available on IMRF’s website, www.imrf.org.
