Most IMRF members participate in the Regular Plan. If your first participation date in IMRF or any Illinois Reciprocal System is prior to January 1, 2011, you participate in Tier 1 of this plan.

IMRF Regular Tier 2 Plan

Most IMRF members participate in the Regular Plan. If your first participation date in IMRF or any Illinois Reciprocal System is January 1, 2011, or later, you participate in Tier 2 of this plan.

Sheriff's Law Enforcement Personnel (SLEP) Plans

Membership in SLEP is based on several items, such as your position, type of appointment, and/or action taken by your employer.The following positions may be eligible to participate in the SLEP Plan:

• Deputy Sheriffs
• Deputy
• Sheriff and Chief Deputy
• Correctional Officers
• Forest Preserve District Rangers
• Airport Police
• Police Chief

SLEP Tier 1 Plan

If you were first enrolled in the IMRF SLEP Plan before January 1, 2011, you participate in Tier 1 of this plan

SLEP Tier 2 Plan

If you were first enrolled in the IMRF SLEP Plan on or after January 1, 2011, you participate in Tier 2 of this plan

Elected County Official (ECO) Plans

The ECO plan was closed to new participants on August 8, 2011.

Revised ECO Tier 1

If your first ECO participation date was between January 26, 2000 and December 31, 2010, you participate in Revised ECO Tier 1.

Revised ECO Tier 2

If you first elected to participate in the ECO Plan on or after January 1, 2011, you participate in Revised ECO Tier 2.

Original ECO

If you first participated in the ECO plan prior to January 26, 2000, you participate in Original ECO.
