IMRF’s Member and
Employer Access accounts
contain a secure messaging function that allows members
and employers to send a message to IMRF through the
secure portal. Social Security numbers and other confidential
data are protected in the transmission between your
computer and IMRF when you use this secure messaging.
Email sent to IMRF outside of Member or Employer Access may pass through
private and public networks with varying levels of security. Some networks may
have taken steps to secure email transmissions while others have not, thereby
compromising the privacy and integrity of an email transmission.
An email transmission may be stored, copied, altered
or destroyed at any point during transmission. You
should never use regular email to transmit a Social
Security number or other confidential data.
If you do contact IMRF via email, we may preserve
the content of your message, your email address, and
our response so that we can efficiently respond to
questions you might have. We also do this in an effort
to meet legal and regulatory requirements.
IMRF will never send any confidential information
to you by email. We will also never send you an email
that requests confidential information from you, such
as your Social Security number, your user ID and password,
or other personal information.

Access account to view information specific to

As you browse IMRF Online’s non-secure areas, no personal information
is revealed or recorded about you. Our server does log information about your
service provider, the date and time pages are accessed, and (if applicable) the
internet address linking you to IMRF Online. This information is used

and reports are date stamped when IMRF processes
them into our imaging system. This date is then used
as the date of receipt in IMRF’s
system. Paper forms may require a few days for processing.
