Northbrook Resident Named Vice President Of Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund Board

Judi Voller assumes role of vice president at January meeting

OAK BROOK, Ill. – January 8, 2008 – Judi S. Voller, a paraeducator for Niles’ East Maine School District 63 since 1982, assumed responsibility as vice president of the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) board of trustees on Jan. 1, 2008. Voller, an employee trustee since 2005, has been an active member of the board’s Benefit Review and Legislative Committees and served as board secretary in 2007.

The independent eight-member board of trustees serve without compensation and is composed of four executive trustees elected by participating units of government, three employee trustees elected by participating IMRF members and one non-voting annuitant trustee elected by IMRF retirees.

“We are pleased to welcome Judi as the vice president of the IMRF board and look forward to her leadership,” said Louis W. Kosiba, IMRF executive director. “Our independent board of trustees, with its authority to invest assets and set employer contribution rates based on sound actuarial principles, is a very important part of IMRF’s funding success.”

About IMRF
The IMRF was created in 1939 by the Illinois General Assembly to provide death, disability and retirement benefits for employees of local units of government. Today, IMRF has more than 174,000 active members working for over 2,900 different units of government, including school districts, counties, cities and villages, parks and libraries. It has more than 84,000 retirees receiving an average monthly benefit of $755, and more than $24 billion in assets. IMRF was more than 100 percent funded on a market value basis as of December 31, 2006.
