Sending an Email to IMRFDo not send your social security number or other confidential information such as bank routing numbers to IMRF by email. Please read the information below that explains the limitations of using email to communicate with IMRF about your account. Please note that we cannot accept a change of address by email. For your protection, this transaction must be completed in writing with your signature, or though your Member Access account. Read more about changing your member information here. If
you still prefer to communicate by email, send us your question
as well as a phone number and the best time to call you. Also refer to IMRF's FAQ (frequently asked questions) where you can read answers to commonly asked questions.
Email guidelinesNever send anything by email that you wouldnt want a stranger to see (e.g., Social Security numbers, credit card numbers, bank routing numbers, or personal information). If you are an employer, you have a responsibility to handle confidential member information in a secure manner. If you wish to transmit information of a confidential nature, please use our Employer Access Area. If you don't have an Employer Access ID, find out how to apply for one. While using email is almost as common as using the telephone, you should be aware that information sent by email is not secure. Much like regular mail, email passes through many computer post offices known as email servers before being delivered to your mailbox. But unlike regular mail, there is little to stop someone from intercepting your email message along the way without your knowledge--and there are people out there waiting to do just that. Think of an email message as you would a postcard moving through the postal system: anyone can take a look at the information.
