2008 Building a Better Memory Workshops

What is the workshop about?
The Building a Better Memory workshop discusses what memory is and what some typical age-related memory changes are. It also offers tips and techniques on how to improve your memory.


How long is the workshop?
The workshop is about an hour long, with additional time for questions and answers after the presentation.


Who teaches the workshops?

The workshop is taught by educators from the University of Illinois (U of I) Extension. The U of I Extension is an outreach effort of the University of Illinois, and offers a wide variety of educational programs to residents throughout Illinois.


Is there a cost for the workshop?

No, the workshop is free.

Who can attend?
The workshop is offered for IMRF retirees or beneficiaries, and a guest of their choice.

Where are the workshops located?
The workshops are located throughout Illinois. Please click on the "View Schedule and Register " link below to view a registration page that displays all of the 2008 workshop dates, times, and locations. It will also include additional instructions on how to complete your registration online if you wish to do so.

*Note: The Spring 2008 Retiree Fundamentals will be mailed out in mid-March; you should receive this newsletter by the end of March.

Is there a registration deadline?
Yes, you should register as soon as possible for the workshop you would like to attend.


Do I need to bring anything?
Some people like to bring a pad of paper and writing utensil to take notes, but you don’t have to. You will receive a printed handout to take home with you.
