IMRF Field Services is now offering
one-day combination training. All Authorized Agent “Basic
Training” classes
will be offered in the morning from 9:00 a.m. to
Noon. On the same day at the same location, you can stay for the
afternoon Advanced Authorized Agent class from 1:00 p.m. until
4:00 p.m.
If you would like to attend both sessions in a day, you must register
for them each separately.
If you choose to attend only the morning session,
join us for breakfast at 8:30 a.m. beforehand. If you choose
to stay the whole day, for both certification programs, it is assumed
you will join us for both breakfast and lunch (at Noon).Likewise,
if you are joining us for the afternoon session only, lunch is
included.
Authorized
Agent Certification Workshops
The
Certification Training Program offers Authorized Agents
the opportunity to learn about new procedures, changes in
the Illinois Pension Code, and other topics that can impact
a members benefits, such as hourly standards, service
credit and wage reporting.
Authorized
Agent Certification Workshops are designed for individuals
who perform any part of an IMRF Authorized Agent's duties.
Whether you are newor relatively newto the responsibilities
associated with serving as an IMRF Authorized Agent, consider
attending a workshop.
Advanced
Authorized Agent Certification Workshops
Advanced
Authorized Agent workshops are designed to address a specific
topic related to the duties of the Authorized Agent in more
detail. Current topics for Advanced Workshops include "Wage
Reporting" and "Purchase of Service: Increasing
benefits through the purchase of service credit."
Advanced
workshops will be noted as such on the registration schedule,
including the topic. If you would like to attend both an
Authorized Agent Certification Workshop and an Advanced
Authorized Agent workshop, there are several opportunities
to attend them on the same day at the same location; however,
you will be required to register separately for each workshop.
Rate
Meetings
The
impact of 2008 investment returns on individual employer
contribution rates is difficult to forecast, since each
employer has a unique rate affected by its own demographics
and funded status. IMRF will conduct meetings throughout
the state to meet with you and other representatives
of your employer to discuss IMRF’s recent results,
employer rates, and to answer your questions.
