Authorized Agent program schedules
will vary this year from region to region. Same day programs will
be offered as well as morning only and afternoon only Basic Training
and Advanced Authorized Agent programs. Morning programs will begin
at 9:00 a.m. and afternoon programs will begin at 1:00 p.m. Attendance
at both programs, if offered on the same day, is not required.
Registration is required for each program you plan to attend,
even if it's the same day.
A continental breakfast will be provided for those attending morning programs.
Lunch will be served for those attending both programs on the same day.
The
Certification Training Program offers Authorized Agents
the opportunity to learn about new procedures, changes
in the Illinois Pension Code, and other topics that can
impact a members benefits, such as hourly standards,
service credit and wage reporting.
Authorized
Agent Certification Workshops are designed for individuals
who perform any part of an IMRF Authorized Agent's duties.
Whether you are newor relatively newto the
responsibilities associated with serving as an IMRF Authorized
Agent, consider attending a workshop.
Advanced
Authorized Agent workshops are designed to address a specific
topic related to the duties of the Authorized Agent in more
detail. Current topics for Advanced Workshops include "Wage
Reporting" and "Purchase of Service: Increasing
benefits through the purchase of service credit."
Advanced
workshops will be noted as such on the registration schedule,
including the topic. If you would like to attend both an
Authorized Agent Certification Workshop and an Advanced
Authorized Agent workshop, there are several opportunities
to attend them on the same day at the same location; however,
you will be required to register separately for each workshop.
IMRF
will conduct meetings throughout the state to meet with
you and other representatives of your employer to discuss
IMRF’s recent results,
employer rates, and to answer your questions.
